Becoming Catholic - Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
An Invitation to all practicing Catholics:
The RCIA is open to you to participate as a team member or a community sponsor. You can help lead prayer, extend hospitality, facilitate a session or offer companionship to an inquirer. Call Marylin Saccomanno at (979) 233-5271.
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) and adapted for children is the process whereby adults and children are fully initiated into the Catholic Faith Community. You enter this process as an inquirer, one that asks questions about the faith and receives answers concerning the doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church. After a period of time, inquiries are asked if participants would like to continue in the process. Those interested continue to participate in formal sessions of formation, rites, and retreats.
So if you are merely curious about Catholicism, RCIA will help you find the answers to your questions or concerns.
