Sacrament Preparation

Sacrament Preparation is a wonderful and special time.  The formation community of St. Mary Star of the Sea is pleased and blessed to partner with the families and guide them through this process.  The primary educators for the sacraments are the parents. It is our expectation that children attend Mass on Sundays and follow the requirements of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.  The general requirements for Sacrament Preparation (Baptism, First Reconciliation and First Eucharist, and Confirmation) for children and youth ages 7 to 17 years old are as follows:

• At least one year of Faith Formation classes  prior to the year of preparation with good attendance (at least 70%).

• Enrollment in Faith Formation the year of preparation.

• Enrollment in Sacrament Preparation for the sacraments your child needs to receive.
